About Blue Peter
Blue Peter is the longest running children’s television programme in the world, currently in its 49th year. As BBC Children’s flagship programme – aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 12 years – we use a rich variety of dynamic, entertaining and relevant content to connect with our audience, giving children the information and inspiration to make a positive difference.
Blue Peter covers a wide range of subject matter, from history, animals and sport to travel and current trends, and has been a remarkable force for good in British society for over 40 years. We broadcast on BBC ONE and the CBBC Channel three times a week at 17:00 and 18:30 respectively.
The Blue Peter Appeal has run annually since 1962 and is an opportunity for our viewers to actively help people less fortunate than themselves. However much you help out, everyone can play a part that will make a real difference.
